Foundation for the blind in Thailand under
the royal patronage of H.M. The Queen:

Foundation for the blind in Thailand under the patronage of H.M. the Queen is the private organization for public charity which is exempt from income and value added taxes according to the 75th ministry of finance notification. It is the first foundation giving supports to the disabled aiming to foster the blind by enhancing their knowledge, capabilities and experiences that are essential in their daily living without expected returns.

The foundation was founded in 2482 B.E. with key 3 objectives:

• To foster the blind, both males and females, without racial or religious prejudice.
• To provide grade school and professional training education in order to help the blind sustain their pleasant lives in society.
• To cooperate with government agencies and other organization domestically and internationally to support advantageous activities for the blind.

In order to achieve the objectives, the foundation has administered the operation into 5 sectors namely the Bangkok school for the blind, ศูนย์พัฒนาสมรรถภาพคนตาบอด  Educational Technology Center for the Blind Vocational Development Center for the Blind and Vocational Practice Center for the Female Blind, Sam Pran; having the Foundation Administration Office as the coordinate center.

The foundation has continually obtained the coordination and contribution from people who foresee the importance of giving opportunities to the blind ….. money and supply donation, and other supports. These have brought hope and great opportunities for the blind to brighten their lives.
